Celebrity BMW Riders Revealed

BMW Motorbikes are not only popular with ordinary folk, celebrities love them, too. From Ewan McGregor to Jeremy Irons, find out why celebrities love BMW bikes.

Riding a motorbike is a thrilling experience, perhaps that’s why celebrities are drawn to owning a motorcycle.

One of the most popular motorbike brands for celebrities to be seen riding are BMW motorcycles.

There are currently four different types of BMW motorbikes on the market – F& G series singles, F series twins, R series, and K series and each differs on the type of engine they have.

From 1913 the company have been designing and manufacturing motorbikes with their latest addition being a four cylinder S1000RR.

BMW Motorbike Owners

Angelina Jolie has been seen taking to the roads on a BMW F650GS-Dakar, while her other half Brad Pitt boasts a large collection of motorbikes, including a BMW R1150GS Adventure.

English actor Jeremy Irons was spotted recently in Etyek, near Budapest, Hungary, buying a BMW R 1200 GS whilst filming in the country.

Ewan McGregor is also a famous BMW motorbike rider. He chose to ride a BMW GS R1200s on TV for the show Long Way Round in 2004, where he friend and Charley Boorman biked 20,000 miles across 12 countries in 115 days. The duo rekindled their love affair with BMW motorbikes for The Long Way Down, too.

Motorbike Safety

Although many motorcyclists like to look good on their bikes it is important to remember to wear the right protective clothing so if you were to have an accident you would be protected.

A motorbike crash helmet should be worn on each ride to prevent fatal head or spine damage occurring which could result in death.

A ThermaHelm helmet not only protects the rider’s head from impact following an accident but cools the brain after an accident to avoid ‘brain-swell’ that can cause brain damage.

The helmet also transmits an emergency signal to the base-station operators to alert the emergency services to the rider’s location, which is particularly important if you are riding off road where there are unlikely to be other motorists nearby.
