BMW S 1000 RR is the Fastest Race Replica Bike
A BMW S 1000 RR has become the fast race replica bike in the world after topping 200 miles per hour.
Chad Millholland was successful in breaking the hotly-contested ECTA top speed 1000cc production record (P/P) and the 1000cc modified production (MPS/G) record in a BMW S 1000 RR recently.
Held at an abandoned Second World War airfield in North Carolina, the unique competition involves motorcyclists covering a full mile with the aim of reaching their top speed as they ride through the traps.
Motorbike production team Pit Bull and KWS Motorsports selected the BMW S 1000 RR for use in the event because of its significant horsepower.
The production record that the team were looking to beat was 190.464mph. Millholland smashed the Production 1000cc (P/P) record at his first attempt, clicking up an impressive terminal speed of 202.06505mph (325.192km/h).
“It takes a lot of horsepower to get a stock package above 200mph and this S 1000 RR just takes off like a rocket from 12,000 rpm to redline,” Chad Millholland said on the BMW Motorad website after smashing the record.
“The internal ratios are perfect and the OEM quick-shifter is best shifter I have ever used. The whole package is great and the bike was set up perfectly.”
Motorbike Helmet Safety: Stay Safe on the Roads
Whether or not you are attempting to undertake a world record attempt on a motorbike or not, ensuring you stay safe on the road should be a top priority for all motorbike owners. Head injuries are the major cause of death among motorcyclists that are involved in high speed accidents.
Swelling of the brain inside the cranium after a motorbike accident and the response times to save a rider’s life are massively important following an accident and can be the difference between life and death.
ThermaHelm motorbike helmets include life-saving technology that immediately cools a motorbike rider’s head on impact, reducing ‘brain-swell’.
