The Most Beautiful Motorbike in the World Revealed
The MV Augsta F3 has been named the most beautiful motorbike in the world following a vote at a large motorcycle show in Milan.
Over 12,000 votes were cast at the EICMA motorcycle show where Motociclismo magazine organised the poll.
The MV Augusta F3 took an impressive 39 percent of the votes, nearly twice that of the model that came in second place.
Voters were impressed by the motorbike’s light weight coupled with its strong power and up to the minute electronics.
MV Augusta F3: The Details
The motorbike has a three cylinder 675cc engine which has a unique counter rotating crankshaft making it incredibly powerful yet compact at the same time. The exhaust system is a triple pipe with a side exit muffler to ensure noisy sounds are kept to a minimum.
The Ride By Wire, which has multi-maps controlling fuel injection so as to optimise power output in all driving conditions, has never been seen before on an MV or any middle weight bike before.
Traction control is also incorporated into the engine management which gives the driver even more control.
For eager Brits, the new MV Augsta F3 will be on show at the Carole Nash Motorcycle Live 2010, held at the Birmingham NEC from 27th November, 2010 for one week. Prices for the MV Agusta F3 are reportedly to start at €9,000 with the sportier F3 costing between €10,000-€11,000.
Motorcycle Safety
If you are thinking of buying a new MV Augusta F3, or any other motorcycle, whether a new or experienced rider, motorcycle safety should be a consideration.
Figures show that head injuries account for 80 percent of all motorcycle fatalities so there really is no excuse for not having the safest possible motorbike helmet.
A standard motorcycle helmet acts like an insulator, absorbing excess energy, which can cause the brain temperature to rise in an accident to potential fatal degrees.
A ThermaHelm helmet prevents brain swelling by cooling the rider’s head immediately after an accident. The technology works by triggering an endothermic chemical reaction when the helmet is hit with force.
The helmet keeps the motorcyclist’s head cold before the emergency services arrives, giving him a greater chance of survival.
